Registered Nurse
Bring your nursing expertise to a role where you have the time to know the people you care for – and the autonomy to make a real difference.
At Woodlands in Motueka, our nurses are an important part of a close-knit team caring for people who call our village home. This is nursing built around relationships – knowing your residents, understanding what matters to them and their whānau, and using your clinical judgement to provide care that is genuinely personal.
Located just minutes from Motueka's town centre, Woodlands offers Rest Home and Hospital-level care, including Care Suites, respite and palliative care. With Thorp Bush next door and the beaches and landscapes of the Tasman region close by, it's a great opportunity to build your nursing career in one of New Zealand's most beautiful regions.
What nursing looks like at Woodlands
You'll have the opportunity to practice at full scope within a nurse-led service, bringing together clinical expertise, leadership and genuine connection with residents.
You'll:
Take ownership of the clinical care of your residents, completing comprehensive assessments, planning care and responding as their needs change.
Use your clinical judgement and autonomy to make decisions that support safe, high-quality resident outcomes.
Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families and whānau – getting to know the person, not just their clinical needs.
Work closely with your fellow nurses, care team and other health professionals to achieve the best outcomes together.
Provide guidance, coaching and clinical leadership to care staff, helping others to grow their capability and confidence.
Notice when something could be better and contribute ideas and solutions that improve the way we care for our residents.
What you'll bring
Most importantly, you'll be a nurse who cares about doing good work and doing it well.
You'll also bring:
A current New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate.
Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
Confidence communicating with residents, families, whānau and other health professionals.
The ability to support, coach and bring out the best in others.
Good organisation and time-management skills.
Experience using clinical systems; InterRAI experience is an advantage, but isn't essential.
Flexibility to work across a roster that may include weekends and night shifts.
