About the Role

Lady Allum in Milford is looking for a full-time Sous Chef to join our passionate and dedicated kitchen team, working 40 hours per week. This is a hands-on role where you’ll support the delivery of high-quality meals and contribute to a positive dining experience for our residents.

What you’ll do

• Support the Executive Chef in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen

• Prepare and present meals to a consistently high standard

• Bring creativity and care to food preparation and presentation

• Supervise and support kitchen staff to maintain a collaborative team environment

• Assist with menu planning, stock control, and ordering

• Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are met

• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen

• Contribute to a positive dining experience for residents

What you’ll bring

• Experience as a Sous Chef or in a senior kitchen role

• A relevant culinary qualification or equivalent experience

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to support and guide a team

• A passion for food quality, flavour, and presentation

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• Food safety certification (e.g. NZQA Unit Standards 167, 168, 20666 or 27955)

• A proactive, reliable, and positive approach

• Respect for residents’ privacy and dignity

• Flexibility to work rostered shifts
