Financial Accountant

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our Finance team at Oceania. In this role, you’ll help ensure financial integrity across our organisation, supporting our villages and corporate office with accurate reporting, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Your work will directly contribute to our purpose: to reimagine retirement and aged care living in New Zealand. You’ll be part of a team that values collaboration, innovation, and care - both for our residents and for each other.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting month-end processes including journals, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions
- Preparing GST and FBT returns
- Coaching team members on finance processes
- Reviewing and approving payments and receipts across AP, AR, cash, and payroll
- Supporting internal audits and annual external audits
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement within our ERP system
What you’ll bring:
- 3+ years’ experience in a financial accounting role, ideally in aged care, healthcare, or property
- Strong understanding of NZ accounting standards and reporting practices
- Experience with financial systems (D365 F&O preferred) and advanced Excel skills
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to communicate financial concepts clearly
- Adaptability, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes
