Oceania Healthcare is seeking a Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications to lead our reputation strategy, brand narrative, and stakeholder engagement across New Zealand.
Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, this pivotal role will champion Oceania’s voice with residents, regulators, government, media, and the community, ensuring our internal and external communications bring our purpose and strategy to life.
You’ll be responsible for strategic issues management, crisis communications, government relations, CEO & ELT profiling, and internal storytelling. You’ll also provide expert advice to the Executive Team and work closely with the Marketing team to align reputation and brand.
You will provide guidance on reputational risk and help navigate sensitive or high-profile issues in collaboration with internal teams. You’ll also support CEO and ELT communications, including preparation of Board reports and strategic leadership messaging.
In line with Oceania’s strategic commitments, you’ll help guide culturally responsive engagement with Māori authorities and Iwi, ensuring respect and authenticity in all communications.
This is a significant leadership role, ideal for someone ready to make a real impact — supporting systemic reform, empowering older New Zealanders, and strengthening trust in the sector. If you’re a strategic thinker who thrives on influence, collaboration, and purpose-led work, this is your chance to help redefine what ageing well looks like in New Zealand.
What you’ll bring:
- Proven leadership in public affairs, stakeholder engagement or strategic communications
- Expertise in corporate reputation, crisis management and government relations
- Experience advising executive teams and Boards, ideally in a regulated environment
- A strong internal communications track record across dispersed, frontline teams
- A confident, collaborative communicator who thrives in a complex stakeholder landscape
- Passion for purpose-driven work and a genuine desire to champion resident and team member voices
