Laundry Supervisor - UHCL

We are seeking a motivated Laundry Supervisor at our Elderslea Central Laundry site in Upper Hutt. This is a part time position of 64 hours per fortnight where you will assist with all aspects of the laundry services as well as the day to day running of a small centralised Laundry.

The purpose of this position is to ensure all linens, clothes, and bed sheets are washed, folded, and kept away neatly. You will also be responsible for keeping your work area clean and tidy as well as leading a small team to provide the highest quality service to our residents.

Being a natural leader, you will enjoy working to a high standard of quality within a close-knit team and leading that team in all aspects of the laundry. You will be able to multitask, follow instruction and understand the importance of following set policies and procedures. Have a full class one NZ driver's licence.

Key Requirements:

  • The ability to work on a rostered shift basis
  • Leadership experience and skills a must
  • Knowledge in chemical handling
  • Highly organised
  • Strong eye for detail
  • Previous experience in cleaning/laundry would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience as a team leader.
  • NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit
  • Full NZ drivers licence

Key Requirements:

  • 5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Completed a culinary apprenticeship, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent customer and people relationship skills;
  • Holds safe food hygiene handling certificates Safe Food NZQA 167, 168, 20666 or 27955
  • Ensure resident confidentiality
  • Takes ownership and accountability;
  • Has good time management and leadership skills;
  • Passionate, committed and a good team player
  • Eligible to work in NZ
